Rosa Foundation traveled to Lenoir County on Saturday, February 27th to distribute 200 winter coats and 600 face coverings at the Contentnea-Savannah School (CSS) for the students in the Kinston, NC area. In honor of Black History Month, Rosa Foundation wishes to honor Mrs. Yvonne Johnson, one of our Board of Directors, for her many contributions to our community and society as a whole in advancement of civil rights. We salute you.

Rosa Foundation, in partnership with Adventist Community Restoration Center Director Cedric Parker, collaborated to distribute over 500 winter coats in a variety of kid and adult sizes, in addition to giving out over a hundred food boxes. We would like to thank Mayor Vaughan for her assistance, United Healthcare for donating coats and food, and our sponsors and volunteers for their support.

100 face coverings were donated to a back-to-school supply drive hosted by the I Am a Queen organization.

With the help of a grant from the Greensboro Virus Relief Fund from the United Way of Greater Greensboro, City of Greensboro, and the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, a week’s worth of groceries were provided to seniors and single parents. During the pandemic, the Rosa Foundation showed appreciation by providing hot lunches to the Short-Stay Surgical Nursing Staff at Cone Health.

At the onset of the pandemic, the Rosa Foundation provided hot lunches to the frontline essential workers at the West Meadowview Food Lion.
