Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont Director of Operations, Amy Lawson, received 50 new winter coats from Rosa Foundation to positively impact the children in their program.
Rosa Foundation traveled to Lenoir County on Saturday, February 27th to distribute 200 winter coats and 600 face coverings at the Contentnea-Savannah School (CSS) for the students in the Kinston, NC area. Rosa Foundation has created a GoFundMe account to solicit donations for its Dah-ve Memorial Fund. The fund was developed in memory of the Executive Director’s late son who passed away from heart complications at the age of 1 1/2 years. Rosa Foundation, in partnership with Adventist Community Restoration Center Director Cedric Parker, collaborated to distribute over 500 winter coats in a variety of kid and adult sizes, in addition to giving out over a hundred food boxes. Four unsung male role models were acknowledged for their efforts to better the community. The second annual awards ceremony went virtual and was presented in a Zoom format and streamed on Facebook Live.
